Two Italian stories in one jar. Inside: Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP "Oro" by Acetaia Malpighi — the "Gold" selection of their IGP range, with a density of 1.34 and an acidity of 6% minimum, limpid and intense brown in the glass, velvety and balanced on the palate. Outside: a handmade ceramic jar from Vietri sul Mare, hand-painted on the Amalfi Coast, no two pieces identical.

The balsamic comes from estate-grown Trebbiano and Lambrusco vineyards at the Malpighi family's Tenuta del Cigno on the outskirts of Modena. Cooked grape must from these grapes is aged together with wine vinegar of estate production in oak barriques, following the IGP discipline. 100% natural — no caramel, no colourings, no additives. Five generations of the same Modenese family have been tending these barrels since 1850.

The ceramic jar is hand-thrown and hand-painted by artisans in Vietri sul Mare, the Amalfi Coast town known for its ceramic tradition, with the bright colours and motifs of Southern Italy. It is meant to stay on the table after the balsamic is finished — to be reused, refilled, displayed. A meeting between the food tradition of Emilia-Romagna and the craft tradition of Campania. The Aceto Balsamico di Modena IGP designation is certified by an inspection body authorised by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture (MASAF), under EU Regulation 583/2009.
