Peroni Nastro Azzurro at 0.0% vol. It is brewed in full as a bottom-fermented lager and only afterwards dealcoholised by vacuum stripping, so the aroma and the flavour profile are built before the alcohol comes out.
Alongside barley malt and hops it is made with Italian maize — the Nostrano dell'Isola variety, grown in northern Italy. No added preservatives.
Birra Peroni has brewed in Italy since 1846; the Nastro Azzurro range was launched in 1963. Sold as a three-pack of 330 ml glass bottles.
Pale gold in the glass, with a fine white head. The nose is clean and cereal-led. Dry and crisp on the palate, with the delicate bitterness of the hops carrying a short, clean finish.
Serve at 4-6 °C, as the brewery recommends · in a tall, cold glass · goes with pizza, seafood and fried antipasti
