Rupes “Gold” is a Calabrian herbal amaro (bitter liqueur), produced by Amaro Rupes in Roccella Ionica (Calabria, Italy) and aged in oak barriques. Its name comes from the Rupe di Roccella, at the foot of which it was distilled in the early 1800s.
Made by the traditional method of cold maceration of around thirty aromatic herbs and roots — among them wild fennel, Calabrian liquorice, bay leaves and orange peel. Amber-brown in colour, with a bitter, herbal, Mediterranean character.
Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful to health. Consume in moderation.
Taste
Best Served
Serve neat in a low tumbler, at room temperature or lightly chilled, as an after-dinner amaro.
Ingredients
Water, alcohol, sugar, glucose syrup, infusion of herbs and roots (bay leaves, wild fennel, Calabrian liquorice, orange peel), natural flavourings, colour (caramel). Gluten-free.
